Such amazing execution. Im going to steal this for my own apps.
Does open. Deleted. Reinstalled. Nothing. Crap.
I dont go a day without using this app once or three times. As advertised, Quartz gives out the news as if its texting with a good friend who happens to be a really smart comedian. Short bits, mostly fun and serious when it needs to be. And the GIFs are consistently some of the best Ive seen.
Props for the haiku in the update description. Pretty good app as well.
This latest version auto plays video ads while Im reading. Incredibly annoying. Deleted.
Its like a little robot friend giving me the scoop. How cute is that?
Been using the app for a few months now and still think its phenomenal.
Ive had this app for about a week now and am using it about 3 times a day for a quick news read through. The conversational language style is very human and fun.
Latest version is more stable so increasing my stars to four. I enjoy this as a source of news with some humor and good summaries. Ill keep most of my previous one star review here for now until I feel certain the stability issues are worked out: I wanted to like this app. For the first few days I did. It was a little bit slow, but I liked getting the headline, optionally getting a little more info or digging into the full article. I thought the curation was good. But then it stopped working. ... So I tried writing to quartz. Alas, there has been no response. Very disappointing.
The most annoying aspect of texting with someone is having to wait for that person to finish typing their message. Congratulations, you have needlessly and artificially brought that annoyance into news reading!
Love the idea, the implementation, and the news picks. Thanks!
I have quite a few news apps giving me notifications (businessweek, wsj, CNBC etc.) and this app frequently beats the leaders on notifying me of news. It also gives me fun conversation starters.
I dont usually review apps, but this one was just so good.I love the interface, however, the starting screen took me a bit of time to figure out (slide to the left).
No, its not The New York Times or The Guardian, or Reuters. But theres something really fun and even addicting about this app. I love the interactive part, even though that too is just a very simple yes/no algorithm. But its fun. I keep coming back all day. Its interesting that the feed isnt endless. Because its finite, it makes me want to return to see what they have to serve up next. Great idea and implementation. Very creatitive and very 2016. Good job.
I love Quartzs (traditionally formatted but well curated) daily email. This app has a totally different concept, which I find entertaining and engaging. The sequential presentation of stories (with options to drill deeper) is a great alternative to being bombarded by stories and clicking furiously. I find I remember more and mindlessly click less than when using common news sites or apps.
Absolutely love this app, Ive tried different apps but I dont really use them frequently. Im so interested in this one and I enjoy reading news now. Great great app, good job!
I love this app because it gives a couple of quick hitting newsworthy stories in a fun to read, message sort of way. I read a lot of different news across multiple platforms so this isnt my go to source for news, but when Im on my iPhone its put together in such a easy to read format that this is my first app I open when I unlock my phone in the morning and then on my way home from work, then right before bed.
Im about as liberal as they come but man oh man do they trash-talk Bernie Sanders in this app. It makes me wonder what else they are biased towards, so much so that Im deleting this app.
